2024 Kid Connection Newsletter

Welcome to our fourth annual online Kid Connection Newsletter.  We’re thrilled to once again bring you updates on the CDC, our events and services, details on local community events, and child development tips and information.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held this September, and all caregivers are invited to attend.  Guardians are welcome to join as a member of the association to participate in voting.  Please contact the centre at 250-563-7168 or enquiries@cdcpg.org, if you would like more information.

CDC Program Updates

This past year has brought the CDC many opportunities to expand our programming and services through appointments at the centre, in-home, in community settings, and virtually.  We have also been fortunate to be able to add equipment to our loan program through donations and grants received throughout the year.

Take a look at the annual update from each of our departments to see what’s happening in their programs, and be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for future updates!

Fundraising for the Kids

The CDC has reignited our fundraising efforts this past year with 2 raffles, one winner going home with nearly $10,000 and another winning a trip for 2 to Disney World!  We were also incredibly fortunate to take part in a charity golf tournament in June and we will be part of a Drive-In Movie Event on August 26th at Park Drive-In.  Be sure to come check it out!

These events have provided much needed funds for specialized equipment and items for our loan library.  Did you know that the CDC provides equipment on loan to children receiving our services, free of charge?  Our loan library assists many children, whether they are needing orthotics to keep up with growing feet, trialing a new wheelchair or walker, or borrowing some tech equipment to aide with communication.
